Our 6 doelings and 6 bucklings are a handful and a half! They are like a cross between guppies and grasshoppers at the moment — they’re eating as if they’re starving, growing like weeds, they jump and run like crazy, and when they’re tired, they collapse in a big, warm, squishy heap in the corner. A couple of these babies will stay in our herd to become next year’s mommies, and others will go to good homes in the area where they will enjoy the wonderful pasture of northwestern Michigan. Life is good:)
Oh, I almost forgot: the mothers of these adorable kids are giving us some outstanding milk. The cheese this year is indescribably delicious! I hope you can get fresh spring chevre where you are, if you are not close to Birchbark Farm. Schlurp!
